Touch

Okay, So if you read this blog, you know that I never do the blogging,...this is Dave...I thought that this would be a good day to for me to post. Of the 5 senses, touch, was the noun of the weekend. I have had a sensation in a tooth that made its debut a few weeks ago, although it was progressively making itself more known in the past week. Friday I was told that I needed a root canal. Hooray!
So the weekend begins with a few pain pills and comes to a stretching halt Sunday afternoon when I feel that slamming my head in a car door sounds like a better idea that acknowledging the throbbing in my face. I called the dentist at home, and in 30 minutes I’m numb (thank you Dr King!) The Dr completed the root canal, and I went home. Kate and I had just finished dinner when she said, “WOW, the baby’s really kicking!” So I gave Baby B a feel, a few moments later, he (or she) was pretending to be David Beckham. I FELT OUR BABY MOVE. What a feeling. This is so wonderful. My face half numb and drooling taco, the sense of touch brought me to tears twice this weekend, but the one this evening will remain in my memories forever. Thank you, Kate and Baby B, for taking care of me today.
