Paper Flowers

I have taken the magazine Family Fun since Will was born and it is an AWESOME gift every month! I always tear out pages and add them to a little file of things I save to do on a rainy day. The other day i decided to pull an idea from the stash. I cut some paper flowers out of construction paper and folded up the edges like this:
The rule of cutting was that the petals should be about 1/3 of the total length of the flower. After that we put them in a plate of water (after a quick talk about what plants need to grow, of course). The edges "magically" unfolded and "grew!"
Will loved this project and has asked to do it again several times. He giggled, he ooh-ed, and he stared in amazement.
Here's a video so you can see the flowers grow.
