Kindergarten

I hate that I haven't blogged about kindergarten yet. It has been SUCH an awesome experience so far. I have felt very comfortable and confident for both Will and us with this new phase. His teacher is Miss White and she has been terrific for Will. Firm and fun is a great combination.
He rides or walks with me every morning and hangs in my classroom for about 10 minutes before going to his own class. After school is about the same. The we usually do a quick thing together before going to pick up Elliette. We will run an errand or go get a snack somewhere. I really treasure this bit of one-on-one time with my little guy. I just love hearing about his day and all that he is learning.

These two pictures were from the first day drop off:

Because Will's school is attached to mine, I often walk over to say hi to him at lunch time.
I was also able to go over and read to his class one day. Priceless!! Here is my "thank you" for coming to read:
I could have cried tears of joy after my first parent-teacher conference. Miss White said everything a parent wants to hear. She said that Will makes a lot of friends and is high on both reading and math skills. She showed lots of his work to me and I was amazed at what this child can do! He won an Outstanding Effort award, too for setting and reaching personal goals. We're so proud of him!
This was his first field trip to a local pumpkin patch. His favorite part was the bus ride- ha!
There is a special place in Heaven for Kindergarten teachers. I seriously don't know how they teach so many things to so many kids on so many different levels. We will forever be grateful to Miss White for starting Will's education out right!
