DISNEY day 1

We had our first full day at Magic Kingdom today! After a heart breakfast of Mickey Mouse waffles we took a boat (a short 5 minute cruise) over to the park this morning.

The first glimpse of the castle!

We've arrived!!!!!!

The DISNEY app has been the best thing ever! It has a map and also a section that tells you the wait at each attraction. We didn't have to wait more than 10-15 minutes all day!!! We got in to It's a Small World within minutes of arriving with no wait whatsoever.

No wait at the Haunted Mansion which we got next.

(P.s. Not sure we are brave enough to re-visit that one tomorrow). Walking down the street with a marching band is no big deal...

Big Thunder Mountain was a little more than Will and I bargained for. He might return. I will most definitely not.

Earl the squirrel was hanging outand snacking while we waited at Splash Mountain.

I had been watching to see exactly how soaked people were as the got off. I did notice that the people in the front seemed to be much more saturated than those in the back. So guess where we were put? You guessed it.

I don't know if I can quite explain how wet I got. My shorts were damp for probably a good two hours. The Jungle Cruise was much more tame...

After than we climbed through the Swiss Family Robinson tree house. We actually watched this movie not too long ago- it was as good as I remembered it! (Both the movie AND the tree house!)

We caught a wonderful show by Mickey, Minnie, and several princesses and othe cast members on the stage in front of the castle. Magic!

We went Tomorrow Land and did a few rides there. Stitch joined us there.

The classic tea cup ride:

Little Mermaid was always one of my favorite DISNEY movies so I loved the Under the Sea ride!

We were able to get a pretty good spot for the parade down Main Street:

Because cheesy is our middle name...

We were all getting kind of tired so we took a train ride around the park.

We killed a little time waiting on our dinner reservation by playing a scavenger hunt in which we looked for portals and had to use Merlin's magic to defeat some evil-do-gooders.

This little man had a pretty awesome day!

We took the ferry back to the hotel, took a quick dip, and Dave and I have our feet up on the porch while Will is winding down in the room with a video game. We will sleep tonight but are already looking forward to tomorrow's adventures :)
