There were 6 different restaurants for us to choose from. One was a big buffet with a little of everything. It was self-serve and we were usually there for breakfast. It wasn't picture-worthy apparently but the fruit carvings there were!

There was a Japanese restaurant:

There was also a Mexican-restaurant that apparently wasn't picture worthy either. We had most meals at the two beach front restaurants. They were so pretty!

While we spent a good amount of time in the pool, we also had the beach available. I have never felt such soft, fine sand in my life. It was seriously stunning!

What a beautiful site for a wedding!
At all-inclusive resorts there is usually a bunch of entertainment since they assume you aren't leaving the grounds much. Every day the activities would change.
The entertainment staff was amazing. They worked full, full days and had so much energy! Dave and I did some stretching classes on the beach, aerobics in the pool, and witnessed some dance classes and a highly entertaining beer drinking contest. (Even Dave, a former fraternity member was impressed with the winner's chugging skills!) That was all super fun, but I unfortunately have no pictures. I did take several during the Michael Jackson concert! There was a traveling group that comes around singing and dancing to MJ songs and you would swear you were in the presence of the King of Pop!

We did leave the resort once for a zip-line tour. The location was about an hour away by bus and I am so glad we did this. The countryside where we zipped was incredibly beautiful as you will see.
They first explained our tour with this model.
Then we were off!
The lines were so long and there was plenty of time to look around at the lush landscape.
Honestly as we drove to this place I was really uncomfortable and sad to see how the Dominicans live. We had this amazing tour guide who was on the bus with us and he was so purely joyful. As we drove though his town he talked about how everyone was family. He waved at the kids, pointed out his home, and showed us the river where he bathed every day. I started to realize that I should not feel sad for the Dominicans because they were HAPPY and PROUD of their lifestyle. I began to see the BEAUTY in these towns. While I silently thanked God that I lived in the United States, I was grateful to have the chance to see and appreciate this other part of the world.
It was such a great trip for just the two of us to take. Of COURSE we missed our little buddy, but it was so wonderful to just be US again for a few days. We laughed, we talked, we made some beautiful memories. It was just what we needed!

Happy 8 years, honey!! I love you!

What gorgeous pics!!! My sister said the same thing about Africa. The people are blissfully happy--no cell phones, FB, even electricity sometimes, and they don't know any different. They're SO content. Glad you had such a great time. It's beautiful!!!
