I thought I’d take some photos and share what Will’s classroom looks like. The building is only a short 5 minute drive from our house which is amazing. I thought I would miss my commute but I really haven’t.
One of the reasons we chose this day care was because of the security system. When we walk in we cannot get past the lobby without punching in our code to a computer which unlocks the door. No strangers are getting in to my baby!
This is a big gross motor room which he visits at least once a day. The do all sorts of activities in here such as riding cars, jumping on trampolines, obstacle corses, dancing, parachutes, etc. It’s a great sized room and I’m sure my wild man loves to have some time to run like crazy.
This is his actual classroom. It is nice and big and I like it a lot. You would think with 16 two year olds it would be utter craziness but these teachers have such awesome routines and control and I have yet to walk in to a chaotic room.
What helps to keep it so calm is that there are centers for the kids to play in. Each kid has a center tag with their picture on it.
The kids take these tags to the different centers such as music, art, science, blocks, or home living. There are only spaces for 2-3 kids at each center. Once that center is full no more kids can play in that area. They are so well trained to walk around and look for a spot to play that is not full. Because the areas are sectioned off, there is really no paths that cross.
Will spends a lot of time in the block center since it has both blocks and cars- his favorites.
The library and art centers (gee, that mess looks very similar to what I see in my own classroom…)
Another big perk to this class is Oreo the bunny. Apparently they let him out to hop around occasionally. The patience this animal must have…
This is the home living center:
Will swiped my phone and took a few pictures, too. This is the chair from home living he wanted to photograph.
We really do love this place and have had amazing teachers at every stage. I wish I had pictures of all of the great teachers he has had. Here is a short collection of photos from past rooms I do have:
The infant room with Ms. Traci and Ms. Melissa:
12- 18 month old gross motor room and classroom fish:
The 24 month room with Ms. Liz, Ms. Tami, and Ms. Christina (“Tina”). Will actually had Tami for 2 years because she moved from the 12 moth room up with him.
We’re super thankful for all of the great care he receives here and how much he is learning. We love hearing his stories, and all of the stories told on him.
