Words about Will

I have been wanting to write a little more on the blog and do a few less pictures. I feel like I've been lacking a little substance and while the pictures capture awesome moments in our life, sometimes we need words to capture memories, too.

* There are some awesome things about our son right now that I don't want to forget. He is a huge fan of superheroes, especially Spiderman. He refers to himself as "black and blue Spiderman" (because the red one is not cool enough?) More times than I can count he has told someone his name is Spiderman when they ask what his name is.

* He has given many of us other superhero names, too. Dave is Superman. I am Spiderwoman (although I sometimes get Super Mom which is pretty cool, too.) Best friend Owen is Iron Man. (funny story here- I was quizzing Will in the car one day on superheroes real names- i.e. what is Spiderman's real name- Peter Parker, etc. So I asked him Iron Man's real name and he said Owen- haha! so cute.) Uncle Steven is The Hulk since he's oh-so-strong. He's given his baby sister the name of Silver Surfer. Dave will sing the Silver Surfer song a lot of times and it's become her little theme song.

* Will very often gives us a hug or wave goodbye and say "I love you, Superman." Melts my heart.

* He speaks SO well and clearly and has a massive vocabulary. The only thing he has a little trouble pronouncing is the "th" sound. Some words we therefore says incorrectly: "Funder" (thunder) "Baf" (bath) "Four" (Thor) "somefing" (something) "

* There are just a few words he mis-pronounces now and since we're nearing the end of that phase I wanted to write them down, too. He calls helicopters "helitopters." He refers to his ankles as freckles sometimes. When he drains the "baf" water he will say he spies the "tomato" which of course is the little tornado that forms by the drain.

* He loves to go on bike rides. We have been biking a lot since we have moved into this house- everything is so darn close! We have a pull behind trailer and I bet we use it 7 days a week. Sometimes we take it to the elementary school down the street go on the "bumpy slide", sometimes we ride to the grocery store for just a few small items, we go to the splash park, or sometimes just a good old fashioned ride.

* He seems to be picking up an interest again in learning letters. We had started around the beginning of the year and he learned about 5 pretty solid letters, but then he lost interest and I didn't push it. So now it's started up again and he is really doing well.

I do have one picture to share with you. Ha! LOVE this photo :)
