New Years
As we have done for the last several years, we joined John & Emily for a New Years evening of food and fun. I can't believe on the first year we were together there were 5 of us- Owen was just a few weeks old- and now we're a party of 8!!!
I think this year will go down as the Year We Burned Almost Everything. I was softening margerine in the oven and it quickly melted and scortched the inside of the oven. We had to ventilate the house (in December with 4 small children- brr...) Then the pine nuts were neglected in the oven and tasted charred so we had to roast a second helping, and we ALMOST burned the kid's pizzas. Almost. That would have been catastrophic.
Eventually we sat down to a lovely meal as usual and enjoyed each other's company.
After dinner we played our own version of a Jimmy Kimmel game we had seen. One person draws an instrument and a song and you have to play that song and your team mate guess what it is. I highly recommend the Jimmy clips if you can get to them. Our game was a bit of a bust. Not for lack of trying though!
So I never usually make New Years Resolutions. I'm sure if I did they'd look a lot like everyone else's; loose weight, save money, enjoy my family and friends. I doubt the last goal is going to be difficult. Just look at these precious loves.
Emily- we missed an opportunity to take a picture of us together again! Nevertheless it was a wonderful evening with the very best of friends. Cheers to 2013!
