Zombie Apocolypse

There is always a Talent Show Day for the students which is probably my favorite day of the year. It is SO cool to see that my quiet student is an amazing pianist or someone who I thought was super ornery be able to belt out a song like nobody's business. I LOVE IT. It is kind of a "thing" in middle school for the teachers to perform in a Teacher Talent Act at the end of the year. It's sometimes a teacher showing off their ability to play a saxophone or something like that, but most times is some goofy dance. I don't know.. the kids eat it up, though. I am normally not one to participate in the Talent Act, but I was asked specifically by one of my teammates who was organizing to please please participate. Well, I have to say if I was suckered into a year this was an AWESOME year for it! The teachers performed the Thriller dance and I had sooo much fun learning it and performing. The costumes and makeup were pretty fun, too. I was watching a TV show that day with my classes and while they watched I started painting these "scrapes" on my arm. You should have seen the double takes! Ha! Some of my crazy coworkers: We actually got to dress up two days in a row because the power went out towards the end of the 1st day and we were unable to get through the 2nd assembly. We didn't have the element of surprise the 2nd day (the kids the 1st day FLIPPED OUT) but we made up with cool props including glow bracelets on our feet and ankles and smoke machines. You can watch the performance here (1st act so the effects aren't as cool, but it brighter so you can see yours truly) : Thriller
