Too late for Prom?
I just ran across these photos and wanted to share real quick. We were not yet living in the new house on prom weekend, but we went and bar-b-qued with John & Emily and the kids in the driveway. Why, you ask? Well we have a bea-U-tiful park on our street that is gorgeously landscaped and manicured to perfection. It is a hot spot for those required pre-prom pictures. The whole neighborhood camps out in their driveways and watched the hundreds, yes hundreds, of kids come through.
Will and Owen and Brighton (friend from day care) had so much fun watching the "princesses" walk by. Of course, there's nothing like throwing some rocks and listening to the "clang" as they hit the metal dumpster, either.
While we ate we took terms telling silly stories to the kids. Our silliness had them totally engaged.
I know all too soon I will be the mom walking 5 paces behind her son holding on to my camera and Dave's arm. I will silently be wondering where the time has gone and longing for the days when throwing rocks was the big excitement in Will's day. For now I just need to remember to tickle him and hug him like crazy (because he has already outgrown kisses!)
