CoMo

Two weeks ago I got a wild hair and packed both of the kids up and drove the three of us to Columbia. I can't say I was intimidated at all by the thought- I mean... I was going to a place where there were three adults instead of two- how hard could it be? Well.... I actually have to say the kids did great. Especially in the car. They couldn't have been better. It did take us 7 hours to get there instead of the normal 5, but it's because we made 2 stops and I knew they would be lengthy. We ate. We played. The baby nursed. Everyone was happy which made the driving part easy. What I didn't account for was while there were 3 adults there was only 1 parent. Props to the single parents out there because that is HARD. As much as my parents love the kids and vice versa, when someone is sad they want a parent. When someone is naughty they need a parent. When someone has a reular bath and bedtime routine they need a parent. Oh, and when 2 kids need a parent at once? Gulp! I'm over exaggerating. It really was a good trip. I enjoyed myself and any hiccups in the visit were completely outweighed by the fun.

Gamma had some booties she had knitted years ago and was saving them hoping she'd someday have a granddaughter! We got to meet our very dear friend's baby Max and he is nothing but smiles and sweetness! My parents loved having their grandbabies visit and I enjoyed some great quality time with them, too.
