Elf on the Shelf

We have decided to join the rage and get Will an Elf on the Shelf. Most of you know what this is, but in case you don’t, the story is that Santa sends an elf to each house to watch the children. Each night he flies to the North Pole to report if you were a good or bad boy. Will named our little Elf Scout and he ADORES him. He is so excited to find him each day (since he moves after his night of flying). My mom bought us one (since they were sold out here) and mailed it- we told him it was a package from Santa!

The first night we hid Scout in the living room blinds. He was holding a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup (which now Will states every day are Scout’s favorite).

When we came home from school later that day “Scout” had eaten his candy!

Part of me thinks this is a cruel story to tell him since he will undoubtedly be disappointed someday, but I suppose the whole Santa story in general is like this. For this year, all I can say is we are having a blast hiding Scout each night and talking about Santa visiting our house!
